Tryout Info

Only players who are new to Brownwood Baseball or are moving up to a new age division are required to tryout.  There are no tryouts for T-Ball.  If your players is returning to the same age group they played in last year, they will be on the same team (even if the coach is not the same)  

All Tryouts will start at 6:15 pm at the Bert Massey Sports Complex.

When you get to the tryout, please check in with the registration table Each child has been assigned a number.  They will line up in numerical order. They will try out in that order.  Each player will get a number to wear like a name tag, please have your child wear than number.

Each player trying out will be put on a team.  Everyone will make a team.

The tryout will consist of each player getting about 3 pitches to hit.  They will run all the way to 2nd base.  Their glove will be waiting for them there.  They will field 3 ground balls and throw them to 1st base. 

After each player does their tryout, they are free to leave. 

After all players leave, the coaches will meet with league officials and have the draft.  You should expect to hear from your coach in a few days.

Players returning to a team in the same age group they played last year do not need to tryout. 

The coaches will do their best to teach your child about the game of baseball, but there is no substitute for working with your player at home.
